Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is NeuroParent and who is it for?
NeuroParent is a web app designed to support parents of neurodivergent children — including those with autism, ADHD, sensory processing issues, or behavior challenges. It offers tools for real-time support, not just tracking or advice.
2. How is NeuroParent different from other parenting apps?
Most apps ask you to track everything. NeuroParent helps you take action when things are hard — like during meltdowns or social struggles. It’s built for real-life moments, not perfect routines.
3. What is Crisis Mode and how do I use it during a meltdown?
Crisis Mode is your go-to feature for handling meltdowns or overstimulation. It walks you through calming steps, one screen at a time, so you don’t have to think or scroll when you're already overwhelmed. You can read more about Crisis Mode here.
4. How does NeuroParent help with impulse control and social boundaries?
There is a full resource library with research backed articles that will be available soon.
5. What is the Mood Tracking and how can it help track patterns?
Mood Tracking gives you a color-coded view of your child’s behavior over time. You can spot patterns — like if Tuesdays are always tough — without filling out endless forms. Mood Tracking works the best with the more information you add to your notes for the day.
6. Is my child’s data private and secure?
Yes. We don’t collect sensitive information, and your account can be fully deleted or deactivated at any time. No ads, no tracking, and no third-party selling — ever. Your data is always encrypted in our database. We follow GDPR guidelines and deny any tracking or ad cookies by default unless you allow us.
7. Do I need a subscription to use NeuroParent?
There’s a free version with all the essentials. The paid plan ($7.99/month) unlocks extras like deeper insights and new features as they roll out.
8. Can I use NeuroParent offline or while I’m out?
No — the app relies on an internet connection since it is a website on your browser. However, you can download a PDF or printable page of what worked during crisis mode ahead of time, and use it that way. In the future, a native app available for mobile phones for download in the app store.
9. Is there a community or support group for users?
